“Utopia,” Part Two Writers: James Tynion IV & Christopher Sebela Artists: Carmen Carnero, Ulises Arreola & Sal Cipriano Review by Steve J. Ray Sometimes time goes by in a flash. Others… it. Just. Drags. The two week wait between issues of  Detective Comics  falls in the latter category. This title is just so expertly crafted that the gap between issues is a killer. The second and final chapter of “Utopia”, I’m happy to say, was more than worth the wait. In issue #963  we caught up with Spoiler and Anarky, as well as with the increasingly unstable Clayface. James Tynion has slowly been building the tension with Basil Karlo, and the lack of emotional control he experiences the longer he remains in his clay form. Whilst human he is tender, caring and kind. This all changes the longer he’s Clayface. The dialogue this issue by Christopher Sebela is lovely. As with many addictions, mine started with me being the innocent, happy-go-lucky guy that I am; then I found it, or more accurately, was pulled into it by a grinning friend of mine. I am, of course, talking about the wonderful world of Dungeons and Dragons , which in-turn led me to the brilliant, fantastic Critical Role . It came to me in a time just after I had finished playing my first campaign. While waiting for a new one to start, I happened to stumble across the web-series Critical Role . Already in their fourth episode of the show I had a little catching up to do, and have managed to keep up with the weekly release of the show. The Doomsday Clock Is Ticking Article by Steve J. Ray This has definitely been a phenomenal year for DC Comics. Since the advent of the company wid e  Rebirth , the company has been on a roll. With the current Batman-centric  Dark Nights: Metal  in full swing, the publishing giant is showing no sign of taking their foot off the gas. Dark Knight News received a press release today, featuring comics supremo Geoff Johns giving us the lowdown on November’s eagerly anticipated  Doomsday Clock  event. It’s hard to believe that this event has been 15 months in the making. By the time of the November premiere of issue #1,  DC Universe: Rebirth  will have been running for almost a year and a half.
